It's Time to LIVE, LAUGH AND LEARN!

E veryone always asks me about Live, Laugh and Learn. The four Morning Entertainment, Lunch catered by Quiznos, 4

questions that I usually get are:
1. Why did you start this event? So, now that you know about LLL - join us on July 30th!

4. How do you pick your speakers?

So, here's the story...
Five years ago, my friend Mitzi Werther (For those who do not know
Mitzi, she was the Director of the Emeritus Program at Richland College
for over 31 years - WHAT A LADY!) and I sat down at my dining
room table to talk about hosting a speaker's bureau through Celebration
Magazine. One thing lead to another and by the time we were done with
our conversation, Live Laugh and Learn was created.
We wanted this day to be one of the highlights of our year. A gift for
our readers and our Advertising Partners. A day for everyone to feel
special, have fun, learn a little and get to know each other. Little did
we know that five years later this program would still be going strong!
So, this leads me to why we call it Live, Laugh and Learn.
I've always said that Celebration Magazine will never talk about the
THREE D's - Death, Dying and Disease. We will only talk about the
THREE L's - Living, Laughing and Learning. Hence, Live, Laugh and
Learn. I think the name says it all. It's who we are, the only problem is
that no one can remember the name!
And finally, how do you pick your speakers? That's easy...Rose-
Mary Rumbley is always invited, period. I don't care what the theme
is, she can make it happen! The other speakers just come to me as I
am planning the theme. This year we are so lucky to also have Scott
Murray, Television and Radio Host, Dave Lieber from the Dallas
Morning News and Al Fike a CLEAN comedian who has performed
with celebrities such as Bob Hope and Zig Ziglar. Check out page 33 to
read more about this year's line up.
For our 5th Annual Live, Laugh and Learn our theme is Lights,
Camera, Action! We have invited our Advertising Partners to decorate
their tables in their FAVORITE Movie, Broadway or Television theme.
I can't wait to see what they come up with this year!
