Plano Art & Wine Walk

Get an early start to the weekend at the Downtown Plano Art & Wine
Walk, presented by Plano Magazine! This is a sip and shop event where
participants get to sample selected wines at their favorite shops in
Downtown Plano while enjoying live music, curated art exhibitions, and
special discounts. It’s the perfect way to unwind in Plano’s arts district.
This month's theme is Dog Days of Summer! The evening begins at 5
p.m. with check-in at event1013. Once checked in, attendees embark on
a tasting tour of the Plano Arts District while enjoying wine samplings at
each participating location and keeping track of the locations they visit on
their Art & Wine Walk passports. Participants can turn in their passports
at the end of the evening to be entered in a drawing to win gift certificates
to local shops and restaurants in Downtown Plano. The evening ends with
the raffle drawing in McCall Plaza at 9:15 p.m. For more information visit

Downtown Garland visitors enjoyed warm, sunny weather and great shopping
opportunities at this season’s first Urban Flea Market Saturday, March 10. The
open-air market has become a popular event for shoppers who love vintage and
repurposed items, handcrafted goods, live music and fun.
The vendors are carefully selected and only the best make the cut. The result is a
unique assortment of handmade candles and soaps, handcrafted jewelry, vintage
tools, glassware, gourmet foods, clothing, furniture and much more.
And be sure to stop in at one of the special eateries for lunch or an early dinner.
With choices like PawPaw’s Sweet Shop, Dos Banderas Tex-Mex, Intrinsic
Smokehouse & Brewery, Main Street Café, 1 Pound Burger, Main Street Deli, Fish
& Tails Oyster Bar, Rosalind’s Coffee and Eats and Hubbard’s Cubbard. When
scheduling a trip to the market, plan to stay all day in downtown Garland and
browse through gift boutiques, antique shops, furniture stores, a vintage clothing
store, a large resale store and more.
Monarch Butterfly Festival
Saturday, September 22nd

Join us at this fun, family-friendly annual event as we release 500 Monarch
butterflies! Thanks to the Perennial Garden Society for purchasing these butterflies
for the event.
At the Monarch Butterfly Festival, attendees will be able to learn about the
importance of the Monarch Butterfly Migration, participate in face-painting
opportunities, make butterfly crafts, have fun tossing seed bombs during the
costume parade, enjoy refreshments, discover local vendors, and purchase delicious
meals from participating food trucks! And much more… The event is from 9:00-
11:00 a.m, with the grand butterfly release happening promptly at 10:00 a.m.
There is no need to wait in line to sign-up for the Bob Jones Butterfly Festival!
Because we want you and your family to have plenty of time to enjoy all of the
exciting activities, admittance is by pre-registration only.
