The Follies features singing, dancing, comedy and variety acts in a style reminiscent of the Ziegfeld Follies of the ‘30s. Says Michael, “We want to surprise and delight with every performance, and each year has something a little different. It’s all fun!” To continue with the Ziegfeld theme, the show has its own trademark, the famous “Follies Lovelies”, a line of showgirls wearing extravagant, lavish costumes by Dallas-area designers parading across the stage. The audience always enjoys a close up view of the costumes when the showgirls greet them in the lobby after every performance. Musical Director Andy Michlin is the former pianist for Liza Minnelli and Tom Jones. The set designs are by award-winning Randel Wright, and the lights and sound are professionally staged as well. This year’s theme is “Music, Music” so there’s a little bit of everything that people enjoy hearing and tapping their toes to, including Broadway, country, lite rock, and ‘big band.’ The show is family friendly.
